My mother filed a complaint alleging that everyone had been to Beautiful South except her. Immediate corrective action was required in order to avoid a substantial adverse judgment.

The pu pu platter helped us investigate previously unexplored appetizers.

The shrimp balls were crisp outside with soft, fresh shrimp inside. I could eat dozens. The crab rangoon dip requires a spoon and self-control. I possess only one of those. The five-spice ribs were tender and flavorful, then became considerably more compelling dipped in the Thai chili gastrique. The perfectly cooked wings were crispy, juicy bites of black pepper pleasure.

Peggy, who does not do spicy spicy, loved the shrimp balls, and the crab rangoon dip. She asked to try my favorite pork dumplings and approved of those too.

The twice-cooked pork earned her approval, too.

But our shared winner was the wonton and char siu noodle soup:

Beautifully executed pork wontons, thin egg noodles, bok choy, and char siu in a delicate clear broth. Chef offers you soy sauce, black vinegar, and red vinegar to let you season as your taste demands. My taste demanded both vinegars. Just Wonderful.

The evidence continues to support my new pattern of conduct. And, yes, I did take an order of steak chow fun home to enjoy the next day.
